HAVE THE TASTE OF FESTIVALS WITH DRUK ASIA

Bhutan is truly a beautiful and unique country, boasting vast and breathtaking mountain views, lush forests, and crystal-clear rivers and streams. It’s renowned for being one of the most isolated and untouched countries in the world with a distinctive culture, history, and stunning natural beauty.

The country is home to stunning mountain peaks, including Jomolhari and Gangkhar Puensum, both of which are the highest unclimbed mountains in the world. The forested hills, various wildlife, culturally-rich villages, monasteries, dzongs, and festivals make it simply enchanting for visitors.

If the answer is yes, let us introduce you to DrukAsia Tours and Treks.

In this package, you will get to witness the festivals of Bhutan that happen all throughout the year. Every year they celebrate their festivals to respect their ancestors. Their culture is known for its colors, foods, and dances.

Some of their festivals are –

PUNAKHA DROMCHE

The Punakha Dromche, or the Punakha Festival, is held annually on the first day of the 2nd month of the Bhutanese lunar calendar, usually in February. This festival sees the grand procession of the central monastic body of Bhutan, the Drukpa Kagyu school of Buddhism, marching to the Punakha dzong (fortress) for a series of sacred rituals both inside and outside the fortress. This festival serves as an important reminder of Bhutan’s traditional values and was declared a national holiday in the country in 2015. The festival is celebrated with traditional songs and dances, art exhibitions, food stalls, and plenty of mask dances!

NIMALUNG TSHECHU :

It is a popular annual festival held in Bhutan, in the Nimalung Valley. The festival is held for three days beginning on the 10th day of the sixth Bhutanese Calendar month. It celebrates the Guru Pema Lingpa, the great terton (treasure revealer) of Bhutan. Visitors come to witness this spectacular festival and enjoy the mask dances, and traditional Bhutanese songs, and dances. It is also a great opportunity to glimpse the unique Bhutanese culture, lifestyle, and spiritual practices.

These are only very few of the other festivals, if you are planning your Tour in Bhutan you must check them out for further details. They also have other exciting tour packages on their website.
